New Client Area
As well as a new website, the client area has now been split into three categories to make it easier for clients to find their images. A unique password has been individually set for each client ensuring their images stay are only accessed by them!

Lightroom Mobile is here!!! RAW editing on the iPad via small “Smart Previews” over the cloud. I have just seen a post online about Lightroom mobile for use with Lightroom 5.4. Collections of images that are set to sync over the cloud appear in the iPad app enabling the RAW files to be edited over the cloud but via much smaller file sizes. Finally we have wireless RAW editing available on the go which syncs all of the changes straight back to the full RAW files on the main computer almost instantly. Images can even be exported/shared directly from the app.
Tablet Colour Calibration
Last night I discovered that X-Rite Colour Management now supports tablets and phones. With the free ColorTRUE app on iOS and Android, if the tablet or phone is connected to the same network as a computer with a USB calibrator attached, you can use the device to colour calibrate your tablet in-app. Thus allowing you to view all of your images as they should appear without colour casts or vulgar contrast.

Every now & then a moment happens when you are glad you have a camera on you. Today, this was that moment!
New Camera
Today I took delivery of the Canon 6D my new camera and my step into the deeper, richer world of full-frame photography. Whilst setting the camera up a few key features have leapt off the page; the wireless control from phone/ipad is superb and the wireless services allowing images to be backed up immediately to cloud storage is excellent. Whilst new addons such as direct upload to social media and in-camera multiple-exposures are handy gimmicks, the low light performance, dynamic range, and colour depth of this camera have some great punch. After 4 years with my trusty beginners 500D, I can’t wait to put the 6D through it’s paces.

The Sarcophagus of Reactor 4 - The first image out of the edit from my trip to the Chernobyl Power Plant. 10 years over due and with the risk of the original sarcophagus decaying and releasing masses of radiation this new structure when complete will provide a much longer term solution. With the total bill of $38bn in 1987 finance is a major stumbling block for this critical project.

One of my favourite shots of Tory at a group shoot in Linton. She hadn’t been modelling long but really threw herself into the swing of things, tremendous fun to work with and did not hold back with the poses and expressions. Tremendously hard working and I thoroughly recommend booking her!

2 days in to a 3 day fashion video shoot and this shot of the Director staying out of view from the camera during a scene is probably my favourite image from the production so far. It really sums up how relaxed and fun it’s been on set!
